Campus Power Injects into Open Source Ecosystem: Tianjin University Student Video Editor Project Upgraded to openKylin New SIG
Recently,afterreview and approval by theTechnical Committeeof OpenAtom openKylin (referred to as "openKylin"),the OakVideoEditor SIG is officially established!
Oak Video Editor was initiated bya student developer from Tianjin University of Science and Technology. The maintained project, OakVideoEditor, is an open-source, free, non-linear video editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The project aims to provide users with a professional-grade video editing experience and is currently in active development, with a core focus on color workflows, audio synchronization, and 4K/8K performance optimization.
02 SIG Group Responsibilities
The OakVideoEditor SIG is responsible for introducing Oak Video Editor into the openKylin ecosystem, specifically including:
1. Code Contribution: Maintain the Oak Video Editor source code, add new features, and fix bugs;
2. Adaptation and Porting: Complete the build, adaptation, and integration of Oak Video Editor on the openKylin operating system;
3. Package Maintenance: Maintain Oak Video Editor-related packages in the openKylin community, track version upgrades and dependency management;
4. Feature Optimization: Perform performance tuning and issue fixes tailored to the openKylin platform, enhancing the video editing experience on domestic platforms;
5. Ecosystem Expansion: Promote the implementation of video editing toolchains on openKylin, enriching the creative application ecosystem of the open-source operating system.

v0.4.2-alpha has been released, focusing on color, audio, and performance, and has initially taken shape as a professional-grade editing software.
