Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces: openKylin selected for the SCO outcomes list, reshaping a new paradigm for global foundational software cooperation

OpenAtom openKylin (hereinafter referred to as "openKylin") is an open-source operating system projectincubated and operated by the OpenAtom Foundation, with the vision of "providing the world with an open-source operating system deeply integrated with artificial intelligence technology," continuously promoting the ecological development of open-source operating systems, actively participating in international exchanges and cooperation in the basic software field, and serving as an important exploration for China to promote open cooperation in the digital field. The "openKylin Open Source Operating System Project for SCO Countries," selected for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs achievement list this time, is led by Kylin Software, with the Xinhai River Laboratoryand the National University of Defense Technology jointly participating, reflecting the important achievements of openKylin in conducting digital technology exchanges with SCO countries and promoting the co-construction and sharing of the open-source ecosystem, as well as demonstrating the positive contribution of China's open-source forces in serving international cooperation and promoting digital development exchanges.

Currently, the number of openKylin system deployments has exceeded 2400 10,000 sets, widely used in key industries such as finance, energy, and transportation. Community users exceed 250 1 million, covering 188 over 100 countries and regions worldwide, with 54 multiple international user groups established, gathering 2200 more than 500 member units and supporting 100 over 30 international languages; the UKUI desktop environment has been included in 12 multiple internationally mainstream Linux distributions. Relying on the continuously improving technical ecosystem and international layout, openKylin has formed a global ecosystem covering community collaboration, technical adaptation, software services, and industrial applications, becoming an important platform for China's open-source operating system field to participate in international exchanges and cooperation.
On the basis of global ecosystem development, openKylin continues to deepen exchanges and cooperation with SCO-related countries and partner countries, having established an international cooperation network covering more than 30 countries along the "Belt and Road" and multiple overseas mirror service nodes, continuously consolidating the global open-source digital infrastructure, andregularly carrying out localized technical exchanges and ecosystem expansion in regions such asSouth Asia and Africa.
Relying on the open and shared global open-source ecosystem, openKylin continues to promote exchanges and cooperation with universities, research institutions, and industrial partners in SCO and Asian-African countries, facilitating the application of open-source technology and the cultivation of digital talent. Meanwhile, openKylin operating system-powered Lenovo KaiTian desktops (Hygon CPU) and laptops (Phytium CPU) have made multiple appearances on SCO-related display platforms, further promoting China's open-source operating system technological innovation achievements into international exchange scenarios.
Looking ahead, openKylin will continue to use the root community as a link, connecting global industry, academia, and research partners, further improving the localized technical service system, talent cultivation system, and industrial collaboration system for the SCO region, making the open-source operating system a digital bridge connecting the world and contributing solid Chinese open-source strength to the development of global digital governance.。
