openKylin Community Operations Report for September 2026
In September 2026, the OpenAtom openKylin (hereinafter referred to as "openKylin") community made solid progress in five aspects: governance, technology, ecosystem, activities, and infrastructure. The Standing Committee visited the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, and the seventh meeting of the Ecological Committee was held successively, deepening community governance. openKylin 3.0 completed its first quality update, fixing nearly 150 key defects, further improving overall experience and stability. The ecosystem continued to expand, adding 91 new corporate members for a total of 2,476. Multiple AI applications and hardware products completed adaptation. The community appeared at several major events, including the SCO Digital Economy Forum and the China International Software Expo. The Summer of Open Source and Hack-Astron Challenge were launched. The official website download page and personal center were upgraded simultaneously, continuously optimizing the community infrastructure experience.
1. openKylin Visits the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center and Standing Committee Meeting Held
On September 22, the openKylin visit to the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center and the September Standing Committee meeting were held in Beijing. The meeting was jointly organized by the openKylin community and the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, with all committee members attending offline.
2. openKylin Ecological Committee Meeting Held
On September 29, the seventh meeting of the openKylin Ecological Committee was successfully held. Attending committee members discussed topics such as committee member additions, working group management, ecological operation progress, and future plans, jointly promoting community governance and ecological construction.
SIG Group Progress
One new SIG was added this month, bringing the total community SIGs to 158. The new SIG is:
Space SIG (Kylinsoft Co., Ltd., Hubei University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China)
SIG Goal: Focus on key application scenarios, committed to creating a comprehensive spatial intelligent operating system software stack.
This month, there were 1,505 valid PR submissions and 120 repository forks. Six public SIG group meetings were held. As of now, the community has accumulated over 28,500 valid PRs, 12,846 repository forks, and 456 public SIG group meetings.

UKUI SIG
- [ai search] Desktop environment strengthens intelligent interaction implementation; search completes AI indexing logic optimization and AI search prompt page hidden sort button function.
- [Touch and Touch Experience Optimization] Fixes issues where touch pinch does not work and touch extended screen mapping does not match.
- [Intelligent Space] Search preview optimization: supports real-time preview of search results for new and renamed controls; improves interaction functions such as clear and cancel.
Kernel SIG
- Merges patches from this core and Loongson manufacturers.
- Adds drm/engiant display driver package.
- 7.0 kernel merges Feiteng manufacturer patches, adds Haiguang trusted computing functionality (TDM/TPM2/TCM2/TPCM).
X-TeeOS SIG
- Scheduling: Integrates Fair and Idle scheduling classes, improves work queues and timers, migrates system services and network polling to new mechanisms.
- File system: Advances folio transformation for ext4, memfs, and page cache, improves writeback, truncation, and buffered read processes.
- Devices and virtualization: Adds dynamic devtmpfs, sysfs device discovery capabilities, and KVMM virtio-blk virtual block devices. Simultaneously fixes stability issues in signal processing, IRQ, user memory copy, and supplements system calls such as alarm(2) and pause.
- Officially releases the community 0930 version.
AgentOS SIG
- CUA Agent Optimization: Optimizes monitoring window position, adds Wayland coordinate correction and composite key execution support, improves task result confirmation process.
- Message and interaction experience optimization: Adds quick message positioning function, optimizes display of messages, thoughts, and execution processes; fixes lag in settings interface.
- Automated evaluation and tool management improvement: Adds system agent automation interface, adds tool viewing, enabling, and disabling capabilities.
- Security and task reliability enhancement: Adds dangerous command approval mechanism, requiring secondary confirmation for high-risk operations.
- Unified model inference service upgrade: Fixes issues such as streaming output delay, abnormal truncation misreporting as success; improves model auto-recognition, anomaly detection, queue history.
ROS SIG
- First batch of 59 packages for ros-desktop completed.
- Remaining 34 packages for desktop prepared.
- 3.0 Lyrical 199 package list + import, PR submitted.
R4L SIG
- Task routing enhancement: Adds session-level skill priority scheduling, supports manual skill selection by users under current task.
- Model layer: Completes KART integration, supports unified access for local, cloud, and multimodal models for upper-layer assistant model selection.
- Memory system architecture optimization: Stores personal information, work projects; global recall across all agents and sessions, supports editing and updating.
- Version upgrade data migration: Supports retaining historical sessions, custom skills, store skills, model configurations, scheduled tasks, etc. after version upgrade.
- Expands system setting control items: Adds 50+ system control atomic capabilities.
NetworkSecurity SIG
- Identifies two privilege escalation vulnerabilities in the openKylin projects kylin-os-installer and libkysdk-base repositories and guides their repair.
MakerFrame SIG
- Renames the original global objects FrameManager, Platform, UserInfo, GameCore, global to $Frame, $Platform, $UserInfo, $GameCore, $global respectively.
- Place busyIndicator under the overlay component to resolve the issue of focus randomly shifting due to rare accidental touches.
- Optimization: Mount several global JS files as an object under the global object to avoid creating them each time they are imported, and to circumvent the pitfall where QML importing a JS file might prevent that JS file from accessing global variables.
- Modification: Rename JSEngine to JSLoader.
Version Progress
openKylin 3.0 pushes its first quality update, centrally fixing nearly 150 critical defects reported by community users and discovered during testing, covering multiple key modules such as AI Assistant, Token Center, Software Store, System Update, System Installation, Desktop Environment, Network Connection, Hardware Peripherals, and Internationalization. The overall experience and stability of version 3.0 have been further improved.

On September 15, the 2026 SCO Digital Economy Forum opened at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center. The forum was co-hosted by the National Data Administration and the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, aiming to implement the "Statement of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on Strengthening Digital Economy Development." At the event, the achievement "openKylin Open Source Operating System and International Root Community" was officially released.

4. openKylin exhibits at 2026 Tomorrow City · Shanghai
From September 22 to 26, the 2026 Tomorrow City · Shanghai event was held at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Science Hall. openKylin appeared at the conference, showcasing AI PCs running the openKylin 3.0 operating system at the China Software booth, demonstrating openKylin's latest technical achievements in the integration of AI and operating systems.
5. openKylin appears at China International Software Expo
From September 20 to 22, the 28th China International Software Expo was held at the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. openKylin was invited to exhibit, showcasing the next-generation operating system and multiple hardware terminals at the China Electronics exhibition area, comprehensively demonstrating the community's core technical achievements in operating system construction, AI native, multi-architecture adaptation, and embodied intelligence.
6. openKylin appears at the 2026 IC WORLD Conference
On September 18, the 2026 Beijing Microelectronics International Symposium and IC WORLD Conference special sub-forum "RISC‑V Open Computing Power Forum" was successfully held in Beijing. With its long-term forward-looking layout and solid technical accumulation in RISC‑V architecture adaptation, system optimization, and ecosystem co-building, openKylin was invited to attend the forum and deliver a special report.
7. openKylin Community Member Salon Zhengzhou Station held
On September 17, the openKylin Community Member Salon Zhengzhou Station was held at the Tianjian Lake Intelligent IoT Industrial Park in the Zhengzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Henan Province. Representatives from companies including Unisplendour Computer, Shanghai Yishi Intelligent, SenseTime, and the Haihe Laboratory of Advanced Computing and Key Software gathered for in-depth discussions on core topics such as operating system ecosystem co-building, AI integration innovation, and RISC‑V architecture support.
